Blog: Finding meaning in exile limbo

Montag, 1. Februar 2016 | Kategorie(n): News Allgemein, Widerstand in Exil

When you are born and brought up in exile, you want to find out more about where you come from. That desire intensifies when a superpower is out to erase your history, your present and your future. I’m a child of exile life and I have never had the opportunity to visit ‚home‘, my country Tibet. I think the biggest toll on being a refugee, whether politically recognised or not, is the life in limbo that I live to this day, even at the age of 35. The lack of sense of belonging is harrowing sometimes.

London (dpa) – The treatment of two Tibetan women detained during a protest against Chinese President Xi Jinping, including police searches of their homes and seizure of personal property, is „profoundly worrying,“ their lawyer said on Friday. Police arrested Sonam Choden, 31, and Jamphel Lhamo, 33, as they waved Tibetan flags close to Xi‘s motorcade in London‘s financial district on Wednesday. Bill Nash, a specialist in protest law at BSB Solicitors, said that in 40 years of legal experience he had never heard of arrests under public order law merely for waving a flag.

Frau Sprüngli und die Ansiedlung tibetischer Flüchtlinge in Rikon

Montag, 14. September 2015 | Kategorie(n): News Allgemein, Widerstand in Exil
